Just noticed that there are a few new brands of knee sleeves now approved by the IPF: Strengthshop: www.strengthshop.co.uk/ (not sure which ones - I assume neoprene - these don't look that crash hot) SBD: www.andersonpowerlifting.com/product-p/sbd-knee-sleeves-pair.htm - now these look interesting, as they are available in smaller sizes than Rehband and appear to be longer as well. I've got the smallest Rehbands and while they're great, they're not that tight or long.

SP tried the SBD ones in Russia! The whole great britain team and the Russians used them, it took some of them 2 people and plastic bags to get them on cause they were so small. Looked pretty awesome though

SP brought in the SBDs to the gym and they feel like a pretty good knee sleeve.

Ah, so they are the knee sleeves I saw being levered on on Facebook. They definitely look interesting. Might consider some as an extra pair for comp day.

Noticed a lot of competitors wearing the SBD sleeves at the IPF classic. Have also seen the photo of guys using plastic bags. I don't agree with that. Perhaps a rule could be brought it in that the sleeves have to be pulled up when the bar is loaded call is given (give them an extra 10 seconds if we must).

Can't see you getting much from a neoprene sleeve no matter how tight it is.

You are probably correct and I'd be lying if I said that I won't try it if things stay the same. I'm taking a puritanical spirit but I can handle Devil's Advocate.

If people are so concerned about people getting carryover from knee sleves with raw it would be better to just say no knee coverings at all rather than a time limit on how long it takes you to put on your knee sleeves.
I believe CAPO has Raw with no knee coverings and a seperate Raw with wraps divisions. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

I agree with Aaron, i have a bit of a problem with people pushing the rules to the limits with sleeves but if we're going to change anything i think less rules are better and just ban them completely

Can't see you getting much from a neoprene sleeve no matter how tight it is. This. Tighter feels more comfortable for those of us who get knee pain but I seriously doubt it adds anything. FWIW you can wear knee sleeves in olympic weightlifting. It can be any thickness or size provided it allows free movement and is not reinforced. Oly lifters can take advantage of this but choose not to. Don't know whether this is because it offers no additional benefit or because they don't have the same mentality with respect to equipment that is indoctrinated into powerlifters.

Don't take away my knee-feel-niceys! Ditto. I would need to spend an inordinate amount of time getting and keeping my knees sufficiently warm without them.

I think because their lifts require so much more ROM. They can also wear knee wraps, but not many do.
