Nah none here. I tried it with extra, extra tight sleeves but if there is any assistance its imperceptible. Go extra extra small TKS, and use slip ons. TKs aren't Ipf legal anymore

I bet i can get carry over from sleeves. But my mind thinks i cant squat raw so the second i get the wraps out of my bag my squat goes up. I believe the scientific name for this is gear whore...

SP tried the SBD ones in Russia! The whole great britain team and the Russians used them, it took some of them 2 people and plastic bags to get them on cause they were so small. Looked pretty awesome though LOL! Too funny.

I got my given to me from the owner. He contacted me to see if I could help organize an Aussie distributor, but no luck so far.

I just got my SBD's in the mail today. They're XL so i can't comment on the whole tight sleeves giving you kg's but they felt awesome. I only put one on to see if i could feel the difference and it didn't assist me enough to affect my form but they are looser then my titans and TK's so again those super tight ones i'd assume would give you more. They are insanely warm though. After taking them off my knee was really hot, and they aren't affected by sweat as much as the tk's cause the material is similar to the titans so the sweat just soaks in instead of getting trapped under. Once the PTC crew is back from worlds i'd be happy to take them around so someone bigger can have a crack with them and let me know what they think.
On a side note, amongst normal people i'm considered as having big calves but as far as SBD sizing goes apparently mine are midget calves. If anyone orders some, order them based solely off your knee measurement and don't go the size up for big calves.

I'm noticing more and more olympic lifters wearing knee sleeves in competition. Pretty much everyone in the European and World Champs wearing Rehband or another tighter looking brand. Here's Lu Xiaojun with the WR snatch set today/last night: www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7vFzCD6DWQI think this really puts to bed arguments against IPF's raw definition. IMO if it's good for olympic weightlifting, it's good for the IPF.

IWF allows sleeves like this as well www.strengthshop.co.uk/sleeves-wraps-straps/strengthshop-range/strengthshop-triple-ply-odin-knee-sleeves.html and also light wraps. Very few good lifters use them because it limits their speed under the bar though and most weightlifters don't miss cleans on the recovery due to strength, which is where sleeves would help. The only example I can think of off the top of my head is Simon Kolecki. On the other hand, most raw powerlifters miss out of the hole, and any difference in rebound that sleeves give could make a difference. I still haven't decided if I get anything out of my rehbands. My squats feel less confident and weaker without them on, but I feel like that's mostly due to patellar tracking issues and discomfort from that. I think it's certainly possible that someone could get a small amount of carryover from really tight sleeves though.

Actually, the purpose of my post and what I am noticing is a number of the top oly lifters are using the sleeves now. It looks like virtually the whole Chinese team is using them. At the European champs, there were heaps of lifters using Rehbands.
I don't think they are using them for performance enhancement at all - but for comfort and injury protection. Pretty much all the reasons why we all prefer them, and why the IPF should keep them in.

I don't disagree they should be kept in. I'm just not completely sold on the angle that you can't get anything out of them.

Fair enough. I also agree about your point that power out of the hole would rarely be the limiting factor for an olympic lifter

I used to wear TKs as tight as I could to see if I got anything out of them but I didn't seen any actual evidence of it in my numbers nor feel more rebound, they just made my knees feel more secure.
