I have the SBDs. The main difference between them and the rehbands is the SBDs are longer and they are tight around the cuff. Thats why they are hard to get on. I guess it stops them sliding. To be honest I don't get anything from any sleeve and they just are a comfort thing. IMO Rehband is as good as anything- definitely my preferred brand.

The specs of the knee sleeves don't really lend themselves to getting much better than Rehbands. 7mm and Neoprene, and the fact you have to get the thing over your foot and up the sleeve mean it's not going to make a noticeable difference getting much tighter.
I'd stop lifting if they got rid of knee sleeves altogether, weightlifting allows pretty much anything including wraps, but the nature of the olympic lifts means that super tight wraps are not going to be of any benefit. If equipment ever does die out in the future I think there's a chance in the future that wraps might be allowed

To be fair the SBD sleeves are very good quality and noticeably thicker than rehbands- I checked them again tonight. Worth a look if you are buying.

Don't take away my knee-feel-niceys! Ditto. I would need to spend an inordinate amount of time getting and keeping my knees sufficiently warm without them. Could you not just wear track pants or something in between lifts an while warming up? Surely the knee would not cool down dramatically between the holding room an the platform. This would also keep not just the knee but the whole whole leg warm not just the sleeved area, which makes more sense to me. I personally do think a rule needs to change an I agree with webby, maybe get rid of them all together? But then again, I doubt anyone could get much carry over from them. I haven't noticed any difference with or without them. Perhaps some people do though?

I seriously doubt anyone is getting carryover. In theory people could wear extremely tight tshirts and softsuits as well. We will end up nude if we object to tight apparel.

In theory us ending up nude could increase spectator numbers, which could solve the issue from the other thread about funding for holding raw worlds...
Or it could (more likely) drastically reduce spectator numbers.

My knees are just shit from years of Aussie Rules Football and sundry. Knee sleeves make a dramatic difference for me.

Nah none here. I tried it with extra, extra tight sleeves but if there is any assistance its imperceptible.
