I notice there's a lot of preference (understandable) for Sheiko in the powerlifting sections, but what would you guys recommend getting on if overhead pressing strength and other more general strength was a priority too?
I rock climb so I'd like to focus on back strength (as well as bench, overhead press, squats, deads, etc ) and moving towards doing a 1 hand chin up. I am currently doing a push/pull/legs split twice weekly and it has worked OK, but I've stalled a bit and I'd like to try something new in 2014. I like the look of MAX-OT - a bodybuilding workout, but the 6-9 sets of 4-6 reps looks simple, heavy, and hard to get wrong.

Anything would work really, if you adapted it right. 5/3/1 already has overhead progression written so that's an easy choice, and you're meant to include shitloads of backwork in it as well.

Did you have a bastardised version of 5/3/1 you put up somewhere? (do you know where it got to?) Bench twice overhead press once or something.
With the max out sets, sets of 10, and doing movements twice a week it looks decent. The criticisms I've read of 5/3/1 are that it's not enough volume and a lot of people could progress faster on something else (in its original form).
