I want to compile a PA club list. If everybody could post any clubs (official or unofficial) that they can think of and include location and some contact details (a name, email or fb contact might be best - probably not phone numbers or addresses unless you know this would be ok). Might be cool to know if you want to train when you're travelling, moving or want to recommend somewhere.

Good idea but what the definition of a PA club. If its a gym that supports all powerlifting then add PTC Perth.

Might be cool to know if you want to train when you're travelling, moving or want to recommend somewhere. I think if this is the purpose than it doesn't really need to be limited to PA associated clubs. If someone was in an area close to a PTC gym I would recommend them to go there.

Its for more than just finding somewhere to train really, its also for finding teams to compete with (as GPC or CAPO members would not be allowed to coach at comps) and also other lifters who compete under shared conditions (eg, used to PA calls, PA specific rules, etc). Hopefully it might eventually be used on the PA website.
Its not meant to be other fed exclusive specifically, its just purposed towards PA lifters, and in fact if any of the PTC clubs have a few PA lifters lifting there to then they would be included in the list.

And as I posted in FB:
Also to clarify as I have already had a few comments on this, this is not purposely meant to be other fed exclusive but is for PA purposes. Hopefully it might be used on the PA website or at least the facebook page. This will also help develop team culture and support crews for the bigger comps. I'm always glad to help out lone lifters at the comps I've been to and it would be great for PA lifters to be able to find teams to train with or at least meet other PA lifters who can help out if ever needed. I did my first PA Nats all alone but met other lifters there to warm-up with and even had Lee Dwarte take pity on me and handle my attempt cards. Having this list will make this easier for other PA lifters in the same situation.

Performance Training Centre Perth Unit 3/5 Millrose Drive Malaga 6090 Contact Paul - 0408 947 755 Can you throw out a couple of lifters names for reference. It'll help PA lifters look past the PTC name (those that might be biased against it that is).

Well we've had a few past and current lifters come in. The only two who are currently members are Les and Nathan. Nathan hasn't come in for a while since hes been up at Strength Club.
I always have members express interest in joining PA, the main kicker though is that it can only be exclusive and that's an issue for most lifters.
We have all the gear you need. Racks, stands, bench, calibrated plates, Eleiko bar etc.

Cool. I'll mention that Baxter occasionally trains there, that'll help.

We have a lot of good lifters. All life time drug free.
I have a 17yo 75kg lifter who can pull 260kg.
I have 67.5kg lifter who can pull 240.
I have an 82.5kg lifter that can squat 240kg.
I have an 82.5kg lifter than can bench over 150kg.
plenty more.

But it's completely different lifting Paullie, lifting rules, weigh-in and equipment between, IPF, and your GPC, CAPO, and Proraw lifters make the sports about as comparable as Rugby Union and AFL. Even ignoring the drug issue it makes comparing the sports impossible.

I can appreciate the differences in rules Paul. I dont think its impossible to make some comparisons but not always equal of course.
I for one hate 24 hour weigh ins.

Jack and I were on it last night and we're trying to come up with a PA club that trains out of the Warehouse in Fremantle. As I would say to Les at the Musclepit I had no reason do doubt that he had never used PEDs but what's the point in claiming 'natural' when you have an opportunity to have that tested. That got in his head even though it wasn't what I trying to do.

Remember guys, no drug discussion on this forum. Just lifting, keep the bullshit elsewhere.
Regardless of their drug free nature this is a list more for team building and support for PA lifters. Any good gym is fine for PA lifters to train at but this is so they can find other PA lifters to associate with and have support from at comps, etc.
Consider it a PA personal classifieds list...

I know a couple of PA lifters who train at doherty's in Melbourne CBD week day mornings and Doherty's Brunswick on weekends? Does that count?
