As some of you may know, last year I my discussions with key people from USAPL resulted in a door being opened for Australian PA lifters to compete at the Arnold. Initial invitations were made to myself, Richie, Amir and Baxter, but at the end of the day Richie and I were unable to go. So Amir and Nathan are about to step onto one of the biggest stages in the world- in some ways bigger than a worlds- since the Arnold festival is a hell of an event- bringing together so many sports, including bodybuilding, strongman, UFC and weightlifting. All the best to Amir and Nathan- enjoy the experience! Now that this door has opened, I expect there to be many more following in their footsteps.

One of my goals is to make it over there in the following years. To go you need to be an international competitor and member of the Australian team- so selection has to be approved by Mr Wilks. However, that's just a formality. The criteria is as follows: Equipped bench- minimum 160 wilks for men and 140 Wilks for women Equipped powerlifting- minimum 500 wilks for male and 470 for women Raw powerlifting- minimum 390 Wilks for male and 340 for women

Our roving reporter Giraffe is at the event. He said Brian Shaw broke the world record for stones. Matt Baller broke the raw bench record with 255.5kg. Amir hit a great pb deadlift. I think Baxter had a hard day in the office, but he still has shirted bench comp to come.
